Today's post is all about Active Family Holidays and we will be using the website - +The Family Adventure Company to show you whats available and what price.

As always our criteria for this post will be a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children and the holiday would take place during August for between 4 and 10 nights. It is worth noting that a lot of the holidays on this website have minimum ages and so this must be checked before booking.

We are going to share with you 2 holidays where the minimum age of the children travelling is 5. Both of the holidays are rated as Level 2 adventure which the website describes as "Gentle." The prices quoted include flights to and from the holiday destination, all transfers, all accommodation, all entry fees and a selection of meals

The first one we found on the website was a Summer Pyrenees Family Holiday for 8 nights to Andorra.

Andorra is a Mountainous Principality located between Spain and France and is an ideal area to visit for a summer holiday if you love action packed activities.

The location for this holiday will allow you to take in the views of the Siscaro Lakes  whilst walking or maybe Mountain Bike in the Incles Valley. You could even head into Spain where you could White water raft down some world class rivers near to Sort. The website say "The mountain scenery is fantastic, the climate perfect and the experiences thrilling!"

On day 1 you would fly into Toulouse and make your way towards the Soldeu area of Andorra by chartered bus. This would be a journey South of approximately 3 to 4 hours, full of scenic views of the mountains over the border to Andorra. The first one being to the Siscaro Reserve which is approximately a 20 minute drive from the hotel and will include a short climb to an area by a glacier that has 7 small lakes in a circle. The second trip of the holiday takes place on Day 3 and is to the Cortals Valley. This is about a 30 minute drive from the hotel and will include a ride on a flat track to a lake. The lake will have activities available, and a bar. Both of these days you will be returned to the Hotel by bus.

Day 4 will be a free day for you to enjoy the Soldeu area of Andorra, whether you try horse riding or simply go for a walk the choice would be yours.

Day 5 will see you travelling across the border into Spain to go Rafting on a Olympic course but don't worry, if you don't fancy it, you can watch the others do it and travel by bus along the course!

Day 6's excursion will see you travel about 15 minutes to the Ordino Valley. This is a day for cyclists as you will be able to cycle on tracks only for cycles, therefore no need to worry about cars!
