Hocks A to Z- A is for Anna and Allan!

Hello Everyone, welcome to the first post in our brand new series "Hocks A to Z"! This week the letter is "A" and the word(s) we have chosen are Anna and Allan!


This seemed an obvious choice as without Anna and Allan meeting, The Hocks wouldn't exist!


So, how did Anna and Allan meet? Well.. in 2007 Anna went for an interview and got a job in the Chester branch of the book company that Allan is Area Manager for (you should all know that Allan wasn't the Area Manager for the company then, he was just in Chester helping for a few weeks over Christmas!)  . On her first day, Anna very nervously walked into the book shop to be greeted by the manager of the shop.. and Allan.


Throughout the next few weeks Anna and Allan got on with each other very well and struck up a wonderful friendship. They met up lots of times out of work, and, well you know how it goes, friendship turned to more and they eventually started a lovely relationship.

 

At the time Allan lived in Southport with Tommy, Michelle and Colin and worked for the book company opening new shops and worked away from home a lot. Any spare day he had off, he would drive to Wrexham to spend the day with Anna, then he would drive back to Southport again to get ready to go back away to work the next day! He must have been SHATTERED!


Over the next few years, Anna left the book company to start a new job and Allan got promoted to Area Manager (he is still working away from home for most of the week though!). During these years Anna and Allan had some lovely times and made some lovely memories together. Of course, they each became part of each others families, which is how The Hocks began!

In 2010 Anna and Allan's life changed and became even better when they found out that Anna was pregnant with Rosie!

 

During the next 9 months, Anna and Allan spent ALOT of money, including buying their first home, a beautiful little ground floor flat that served them very well!

9 months flew by and 4 days early, at 10.20pm on the 17th December 2010, Rosie Elin Wilcock was born, weighing a perfect 7lbs 3oz. She was perfect (and still is!) and everybody fell in love with her instantly.

 

 

 

Over the past 4 years we have watched Rosie grow out of being a baby and become a proper little girl!

 

 

On 2nd March 2012, Anna and Allan got married. The wedding was beautiful, but we wont tell you too much as we are sure there will be a separate post about it soon!

 

In April 2012, Anna and Allan went on their Honeymoon to Paris. During their tome there they had a wonderful time taking in the sights, having wonderful meals out, going on a river boat trip and even took a day trip to Disneyland! They had such a wonderful time and REALLY hope to be able to go back again!

 

 

Since being married, Anna and Allan have done lots more lovely things together. Including, lovely days out, going to see concerts and also, selling their flat and buying a brand new house!

Here is to the rest of their lives together and many more memories to come!

Top Of The Hocks- Friday 15th May 2015!

1) Website Of The Week

This week we are going for Very. Very, formerly known as Littlewoods Direct, is an online catalogue store where you can find practically everything! From clothes to toys they have it all! There are a number of ways you can pay for your items, from paying the whole amount in one go, to spreading the cost over 3 months interest free. Anna and Allan have used Very a number of times and delivery has always been quick, payment easy and the products fantastic!

2) TV Show Of The Week

This week we are going for the SHAMAZING Only Fools And Horses. You can watch this programme over and over again and never ever get bored of it. No matter how many times you see Del Boy falling through that boy, Del and Rodney running down the street dressed and Batman and Robin and of course good old Grandad hammering the wrong chandelier, you will still end up with tears of laughter running down your cheeks every time! It really doesn't get much better than this!

                              

3) Joke Of The Week

2 cats were in a swimming race. One cat was called one two three and the other cat was called un deux trois. Which cat won?

One two three won because Un deux trois quatre sanc!

4) Song Of The Week.

This week we have majorly hit the retro button and have gone for Ramble On by the legendary band Led Zeppelin. Why don't they make Rock n Roll like this anymore??!

This week we are sharing with you this lovely video that Anna's best friend Catherine made of Rosie's Cinderella makeover at Disney's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Harrods.

This week we have chosen this lovely picture of Anna, Allan, Colin and Anna's best friends Catherine and Tasha on Anna and Allan's wedding day.

8) Movie Of The Week

This week we are going to go for the golden oldie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. This is a film that is loved by both children and adults. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is all about Caractacus Potts, the poor inventor who buys and renovates an old burned out car that his children Jemima and Jeremy have fallen in love with. However, Chitty isn't just any old car, she is a magic car that takes Mr Potts, Jeremy, Jemima and Truly Scrumptious on an adventure to remember to a place called Vulgaria to find their grandfather who has been kidnapped! If you have never seen it, watch it, its an absolute classic!

                          

     

9) Shop Of The Week.

As Anna, Allan, Rosie, Lynne and Eifion are jetting off to Gran Canaria next week, we have decided to go for Boots! You can get most of your travel essentials in Boots from Sun Glasses to Sun Cream and they are very reasonably priced too!

                                             

10) Family Friendly Restaurant Of The Week

This week we are going for a favourite of ours, Toby Carvery. Toby Carvery is a super reasonably priced family friendly carvery restaurant and their food is super nice, especially their ice cream sundaes! yummy!
